The ABEX Academy offers expert witnesses, both members and non-members, essential ongoing training to update their technical, judicial and professional skills. These training courses help to guarantee the quality, rigour and independence of the reports of expert witnesses. They are the lynchpins of responsible and recognised professional practice.

Skills training for expert witnesses

The ABEX Academy offers basic training in judicial expertise recognised by the Ministry of Justice and the Belgian national register of expert witnesses. These state-approved training courses comprise at least 32 hours of tuition, spread over thirteen 3-hour sessions, and meet the legal requirements for expert witness accreditation.

Mentoring

Sharing experience is crucial to escalating good practice among expert witnesses. Through our Share! programme, you will have the opportunity to ask questions about an expertise you're having difficulty with, learn from the experiences of others, and perhaps even form mentor-mentee pairs for more personalised support.
